Short version: Versewright uses your melody and prompt to write your lyrics, and does nothing else with them. There is no account, no ad tracking, and nothing is sold.

What Versewright sends

To turn a melody into lyrics, Versewright sends the following to its own server, and from there to the AI model that writes the lines (Anthropic's Claude):

• The melody you provide, as musical notes (from a MIDI file, a hummed line converted to notes, or the built-in demo).
• The mood or theme you type.

These are used only to generate the lyric lines you asked for. They are not used to build a profile of you, and Versewright does not attach them to your identity, because it does not know your identity.

What Versewright does not do

• No account, login, name, or email is required to use it.
• No advertising trackers, and your work is never sold or shared for marketing.
• Audio from the "hum it" feature is turned into notes in your browser or on your device; the raw recording is not uploaded.

Your own API key

If you choose to use your own Anthropic API key, it is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device and sent directly with your own requests. It is never stored on Versewright's servers.

In-app feedback

If you send feedback from inside the app, the message you write (and nothing else you didn't type) is stored so we can read and act on it. It is not linked to an account.

The AI provider

Lyric generation is performed by Anthropic. Your melody and prompt are processed under Anthropic's API terms to return the lines, and are not used to train their models.
