Everkin is a gentle memory aid. A caregiver adds the people who matter, and later — pointing the phone at someone — Everkin quietly says who they are: a name, and how they're related. Below are answers to common questions. If you don't see yours, email us and we'll help.

Common questions

How do I add someone?

Open the caregiver area (the people button, top corner), unlock it, and tap Add someone. Choose a clear, front-on photo, then type their name, how you know them ("Your daughter"), and an optional gentle note. That's all Everkin needs to recognize them later.

How does it recognize people?

Point the phone toward someone. If they're a person you've added, Everkin shows their photo and name and says it aloud — "This is Sarah. Your daughter." A calm card, one gentle button to hear the name again. Everything happens on the device, in real time.

What if two people look alike, or it isn't sure?

Everkin never guesses. If it's torn between two people you've added, it gently asks "Is this…?" and shows their photos so a person can confirm. Confirming teaches it, so it becomes more confident next time. If it isn't sure at all, it simply stays quiet rather than risk a wrong name.

Can it recognize strangers?

No — and that's deliberate. Everkin can only ever recognize the people a caregiver has added. It cannot identify anyone else, and it never will. It is a memory aid, not a way to identify strangers.

Does it work without internet? Is my data private?

Everkin works completely offline. Photos and face data never leave the phone — there are no servers, no cloud, and no tracking. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

What is the caregiver PIN and Face ID for?

They keep the setup area — where people are added, edited, or removed — for the caregiver, so the person using Everkin can't wander into it by accident. You set a PIN the first time; after that you can unlock with the PIN or with Face ID / Touch ID.

I set a PIN and forgot it. What now?

If Face ID or Touch ID is set up on the device, use that to get in, then change the PIN in the caregiver area. If you can't get in at all, email us and we'll help.

How do I add more photos of someone?

Open that person in the caregiver area and add another photo. A few photos in different light and angles make recognition more reliable.

Who is Everkin for?

Families living with dementia or Alzheimer's, people beginning to notice memory loss, and anyone with face-blindness (prosopagnosia). It's built to protect the dignity of the person using it.
