Allay Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Allay keeps your data on your device by default. The core app has no account and no sign-in, and we use no analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers. Two features send anything off your device, and only if you choose to use them: the optional Community, and sending us feedback.

What's Stored On Your Device

• Your daily check-ins (how much your tinnitus bothered you, sleep, and any notes you write).
• Your preferences and progress (chosen sounds, volume, masking and tuning settings, your matched tinnitus pitch, program progress, and onboarding answers).

This information is saved locally on your device only. It is never sent to us. Deleting the app removes it.

The Community (Optional)

The community is entirely optional. If you never use it, nothing leaves your device. If you do use it:

• You sign in with Sign in with Apple. This gives us a private identifier from Apple (you can keep your real email hidden behind Apple's relay). We use it only to let you sign back in and to attribute your posts to you.
• Your posts, replies, and a pseudonymous handle are stored on our backend (provided by Supabase) so other members can see them. Please treat anything you post as public.
• To keep the space safe, new posts are automatically screened for harmful content by a moderation service before they appear, and a human moderator may review reported content.
• You can report or block other members at any time.

We do not sell community data or use it for advertising.

Feedback You Send (Optional)

If you use About → Send feedback, the message you write is sent to us, along with basic technical details that help us act on it: the app version and build, your iOS version, your device model (for example "iPhone16,2"), and your language setting. If you add your email address — which is optional and clearly marked — we use it only to reply to you, and for nothing else. We never send your check-ins, your notes, your sound settings, or anything else from the app. If you leave the email field blank, your feedback is anonymous. Feedback is stored in a private database that only we can read; it is not sold, shared, or used for advertising. Email us at toddkedwards@gmail.com if you would like a piece of feedback deleted.

Apple Health (Optional)

If you turn it on, Allay can log your calm time — breathing and wind-downs — to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes. Allay only writes this; it never reads your health data. This stays off unless you enable it.

Purchases

Allay+ is a one-time purchase, processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. The app stores only whether Allay+ is active, on your device.

No Tracking

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or third-party trackers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Children

Allay is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region) and does not knowingly collect their data.

Your Choices

• Delete the app to erase all locally stored data.
• Allay+ is a one-time purchase — restore it anytime from About → Restore purchase.
• Ask us to delete feedback you sent, by emailing toddkedwards@gmail.com.
• Delete your community account anytime in the app: About → Community account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, posts, and replies. You can also email us at toddkedwards@gmail.com.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll change the date above and post the new version.
