Della is a breathing instrument. It finds your personal resonant breathing rate and paces you to it, so you can settle your nervous system with a slow, even breath. Below are answers to common questions. If you don't see yours, email us and we'll help.

Common questions

How do I find my resonant rate?

Open Della on your Apple Watch and tap Find your resonance. Sit still and relaxed, then breathe slow and deep, following the pulses, for a few quiet minutes. Della reads your heart rate and finds the pace where your body settles best. Your rate then syncs to your iPhone and powers the "Resonant" technique.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

The breathing instrument works on iPhone alone. An Apple Watch is only needed to measure your personal resonant rate. Without a Watch, you can still use every technique at a rate you choose.

How do I breathe with it?

Pick a technique, press play, and follow along. A glowing disc breathes on screen — cyan as you draw air in, warm amber as you release. You can turn the screen off and follow entirely by feel: gentle haptics swell on the inhale and settle on the exhale, on both iPhone and Apple Watch. No counting, no effort.

What are the techniques?

Resonant (paced to your measured rate), Coherent 5.5, Box (4·4·4·4), 4·7·8, Extended Exhale, Physiological Sigh, and Custom — dial your own inhale, hold, exhale, and hold.

Can I keep my own music playing?

Yes. Della mixes with other audio, so your music or podcast keeps playing right alongside it. You can also balance Della's own tones and ambient pad, or silence them, in Settings.

How does the trial and pricing work?

Della starts with a 7-day free trial. After that it's $99.99 per year, or a one-time $199.99 to own it forever. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in the App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

How do I turn off Health access?

Anytime, in your device Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Della. Della only reads your heart rate during a resonance measurement, on-device, never in the background.

Is my heart-rate data private?

Yes. Your heart rate never leaves your device — it's read only to compute your rate, and your rate and history stay on your device. See our privacy policy below for the full detail.
