RUMMIJ helps you find garage and yard sales near you, search for the exact items you want, plan an efficient route, and — if you're hosting — post your own sale for free. Below are answers to common questions. If you don't see yours, email us and we'll help.

Common questions

How do I post a sale?

Tap Post a sale, type your address (pick it from the suggestions so the pin drops correctly), set the day(s) and hours, and add a few photos of your items — RUMMIJ auto-tags them so buyers can search for what you're selling. You don't need an account. In a hurry? Tap Paste a Facebook or Craigslist post and we'll fill in the details for you to review.

How do I edit or take down a sale I posted?

Go to Lists → My Sales and tap your sale to edit it. To remove it, open the sale and tap Take down this sale at the bottom of the edit screen. Sales also expire automatically after their last day.

On sale day, how do I tell shoppers what's happening?

In My Sales, tap Set today's status to mark your sale Still going, Wrapping up, Closed early, or Rained out. Anyone who saved your sale gets a heads-up.

There are no sales near me. Is the app broken?

No — RUMMIJ only shows real sales that people have posted, so a new area can start out empty. Be the first: post your own sale (it's free), or invite the garage-sale lovers you know. The more of your neighborhood that's on RUMMIJ, the more useful it gets.

How does item search work?

When a host adds photos, an AI service reads them and tags the items (for example "oak dresser," "cordless drill," "3T clothes"). Search any term and the map filters to sales that have it.

How do I plan a route?

Tap Add to My Day on the sales you want, then open My Day. RUMMIJ orders the stops by opening time and shortest drive, and hands the whole route to Google Maps — or you can hop stop-to-stop in Apple Maps.

How do I turn notifications or location off?

Anytime, in your device Settings. Location is used only while you're using the app, to center the map and open directions — never in the background.

How do I report a listing or block a host?

Open the sale, tap the ••• menu, and choose Report listing or Block this host. Reported listings are reviewed, and blocking hides everything from that host on your device.

How do I delete my data?

You can take down any sale you posted, and remove saved sales or logged "treasures" in the app. To request deletion of content associated with your device, email us at the address above.
